Out now via Scarlet Records - Shadowborne arrive with an album heavily focussed on towering choruses, fantasy driven storytelling, and a vocalist that’s capable of carrying an entire world on her shoulders. Heaven’s Falling doesn’t reinvent the genre, instead, committing fully to its vision in which it delivers with utter conviction.

Built around themes of loyalty, destiny, sacrifice, and war, the album draws heavily from the imagery of Game of Thrones - Viking mythology, and classic fantasy literature. Yet beneath the dragons, kingdoms, and burning skies lies a collection of songs rooted in human emotions. Identity, loss, and ambition are woven throughout the record, giving the narratives genuine weight.
After the cinematic overture of “Winter Is Coming (Heims Advenit),” Shadowborne steam roll into “High and Low,” a battle ready anthem driven by muscular riffs and a memorable chorus. “Wolf and the Dragon (On Wings of Love)” balances power metal heroics with a surprisingly romantic narrative, while “Custodians” injects dark energy through rhythms and no doubt one of the album’s strongest hooks.
The album reaches its peak during the central run of tracks. “Hold the Door” transforms one of fantasy television’s most emotional moments into a triumphant singalong, while the title track combines melodies with themes of exile, faith, and destruction. “Stranger to Myself” offers a welcome shift in perspective, exploring identity through one of Eira Shadowborne’s most compelling vocal performances.
Musically, the band operates in familiar territory. Huge keyboards, galloping rhythms, melodic leads, and sharp arrangements dominate. The real difference overall is Eira herself. Her performance elevates every song, bringing emotion, and charisma to material that could otherwise feel formulaic.
The closing stretch featuring “The Wall,” the atmospheric “Raven,” and power ballad “End of the World” ensures the album finishes strong, leaving a lasting impression despite its concise thirty five minute runtime.
Heaven’s Falling establishes Shadowborne as a serious new contender. It is focused, and packed with enough memorable moments to keep listeners returning long after the final note fades.
