About Headbangers Australia

Headbangers Australia was founded in November 2024 by Dan Catania as a YouTube channel with a mission to unite the metal community across Australia - bringing together bands, promoters, labels, and fans under one voice. Inspired by the energy and legacy of MTV’s Headbangers Ball, the goal was to recreate that same passion and sense of community for Australian metal. The platform began by connecting audiences through YouTube and social media, providing a space where metal fans could engage, discover, and celebrate the underground scene.

As the community grew, so did the vision. With increasing fan interaction on social platforms and growing recognition from labels and PR firms, Headbangers Australia evolved from a YouTube channel into a dedicated media platform. We began supporting metal bands locally and overseas by promoting their releases, producing interviews, and creating YouTube features and social reels - all focused on amplifying their presence and connecting them with new audiences.

Today, Headbangers Australia proudly stands as one of the country’s most active underground metal media outlets, with over 2,000 followers across our social media hubs. We work with respected labels such as Season of Mist, WormholeDeath, Murder Records, Reigning Phoenix Music, and Nuclear Blast, as well as PR firms in Australia and abroad. Our mission remains the same — to spotlight underground metal in all its forms, from black, death, thrash, grindcore, power, and metalcore, and to continue uniting the Australian metal scene under one banner.
