Headbangers Australia is an independent underground metal media platform based in Australia, founded in November 2024 by Dan Catania. Originally launched as a YouTube channel, the project was inspired by the energy and legacy of MTV’s Headbangers Ball, with a clear mission: to unite and amplify the Australian metal underground while connecting it to the global heavy music community.
What began as a platform for discovery and engagement quickly evolved. As audience interaction grew across YouTube and social media, and recognition increased from record labels and PR firms, Headbangers Australia expanded into a dedicated media outlet.
