Out now via Willowtip Records - Brazil’s Loneshore returns with Nothing Left to Deconstruct, a sophomore effort that expands on the foundations laid by 2018’s From Presence to Silence. Released via Willowtip Records, the album perfectly occupies a space between progressive metal, post-metal & doom, balancing emotional weight & meticulous songwriting, avoiding many of the genre's clichés.

Opening moments of “Self Oscillations,” sees the band establishing an atmosphere of quiet unease. Clean passages & restrained percussion gradually give way to the tension of “Straylight,” where guitars and carefully paced dynamics reveal a group far more developed in their narrative. The transition is completely natural, with each movement serving a purpose rather than showcasing technical ability.
This album’s momentum is fierce. Tracks “To Stride the Black Earth” & “Birth of a Mountain” incorporate progressive structures into melodic frameworks, whilst “Parhelion” stands out as one of the ‘must listens’ on record. Built on melodic themes & heavy riffs, it captures the scope of the album without tipping the scales of excess. Cinematic, immersive & utterly emotionally resonant.
Luiz Felipe Netto’s vocals provide a crucial anchor throughout. His delivery shifts between introspective melodies & forceful passages, giving the material a human dimension. Production duties by Netto, & mastering from Magnus Lindberg, make sure each instrument occupies space within the dense arrangements.
Closing epic “With Nothing We Part” brings the journey to a conclusion, allowing atmosphere, & heaviness to co-exist one final time.
Nothing Left to Deconstruct is an absorbing and richly detailed record that just goes to show how progressive & post-metal can still sound huge, purposeful & deeply affecting when executed professionally.
