HORRIFIER - REVELATIONS OF GORE

Built on the story of a dying man bargaining with an entity for eternal life, Revelations of Gore brings atmosphere & brute force together as one. Every sacrifice pushes the protagonist further into madness, with the music following the same downward spiral. Furious blasts and riffs are balanced by slower passages allowing tension to build before the next eruption. The pacing keeps the concept engaging from start to finish, making the album feel like a complete narrative.

The band’s influences shine through. Shades of Autopsy, Entombed, Repulsion and early Pestilence surface throughout, but Horrifier avoids sounding anything like a tribute act. The guitar work is sharp & memorable, the rhythm section drives every song with momentum, & the bass is given enough space in the mix to add lengthy weight. The production strikes an ideal balance between clarity and grime, preserving a clear, organic sound.

Highlights arrive with “Compelled To Slaughter,” exploding with urgency, while “Human Butchery” lands with some of the album’s heaviest riffs. The closing stretch is particularly strong, culminating in “Blood For Ascension,” a violent finale that leaves no space for an early exit.

Revelations of Gore proves Horrifier is more than another revivalist death metal band. They know the genre’s foundations, while writing songs that feel dynamic & menacing. It is a brutal release that earns its place among this year’s strongest old school death metal records.
