Out now via Dying Victims Productions - On The Eternal Hunger, Stockholm duo Harrowed expand on the rot they first exposed in their 2021 demo and subsequent split.

Formed by Adam Lindmark, formerly of Morbus Chron, alongside Tobias Alpadie, Harrowed pull from early Autopsy and Entombed whilst injecting a punkish volatility. “Bayonet” opens with a speed-metal charge, “Ultra-Terrene Phantasmagoria” and “Blood Covenant” pivot between skank beat aggression and slower, lurching grooves that feel almost doomed in their weight. The title track stretches furthest, threading clean arpeggios through a swamp of distortion before collapsing into a grinding finale.
The production side of things , handled by Robert Pehrsson at Studio Humbucker, lands with complete clarity. The guitars carry without dissolving, and drums strike with a live room presence instead of click tracked precision. Guest appearances from Nicke Andersson and Scott Carlson reinforce the lineage.
Not every transition is seamless. “The Reins” momentarily loses momentum, and certain riff motifs recur a shade too comfortably. Yet the record’s core strength lies in balance, rock inflected swing, hardcore abrasion, and death metal morbidity integrated into concise structures. Harrowed honors the Swedish tradition by testing its elasticity. The result is direct, unsentimental, and built to endure repeat exposure.
