Flamecore’s debut record is a damn fine masterclass in modern melodic death metal, both ferocious and emotionally charged from start to finish. Hailing from Greece, the band channels their influences of In Flames, Gojira, and Slipknot without ever sounding like a tribute band (which is all too common in this day and age).

Blasting off with “Planes of Nameck,” the tone is set with huge double kicks, crisp riffing, and vocals that swing between primal aggression and fucking despair. The musicianship on this record is top tier and every section feels complete & deliberate. Flamecore have striked that rare balance between brutality and melody, crafting tracks that hit as hard as they haunt.
Recorded across Chania and Athens and mixed by John Mor at Apex Soundworks, the sound is ridiculously huge with everything in its rightful place. The kind of mix that rewards both headphone immersion and live stage fire 🔥
Lyrically, the album cuts deep into your soul. Themes of disillusionment, resilience, and existential fury run through tracks “Only Waste Remains” and the devastating title track. Whilst standout track “Celebrate Yourself” throws you deep into the pit of absolute guitar wizardary!
For a debut, this is frighteningly confident. Flamecore have pushed the boundaries here with something that feels both classic and new forming a declaration of purpose from a band already operating at a professional level. If you live & breathe melodic death metal, this is a new contender for your playlist. Crank it to eleven 👊🏽
