“FEAR” represents a significant shift for the band, both sonically and lyrically. Rather than their usual symphonic-based songwriting, the track embraces a more groove-driven approach, incorporating pitch effects, unconventional guitar noises and riffs designed to hit hard in a live setting.
Lyrically, the band took inspiration from the horror and slasher genres, approaching “FEAR” with violence and horror firmly in mind. Written collectively by all members of The Nameless, the track explores a darker and more unsettling side of the band's songwriting.
The single was mixed and mastered by The Nameless vocalist Vai Gravino at Nameless Studio, with the track's artwork featuring a painting by 19th-century Austrian artist Franz von Stuck, further reinforcing the dark and unsettling atmosphere surrounding the release.
The release follows a string of successful singles and albums from the band, with their biggest video surpassing 100,000 views, helping The Nameless continue to build momentum within Australia's heavy music scene.
The band will follow the release with an official music video for “FEAR”, premiering 31 August 2026. Filmed by Brodie MacMaster, Lola Willows and Billie Read, the video was captured at Coffs Harbour Scout Hall during one of the band’s hometown shows, as well as surrounding bushland in Red Rock NSW. Edited by Vai Gravino.
The Nameless will celebrate the release of “FEAR” with a special Release Show at the Coffs Hotel, taking place one week before their appearance at The Cage in Port Macquarie. The band will then bring “FEAR” to the stage on Friday, 30 October 2026, performing at The Cage as direct support for Newcastle’s Volatile Ways, alongside Whisperhead and Torment. The two shows will give audiences the first opportunity to experience the band's new material live following the release.

ABOUT THE NAMELESS
The Nameless are a four-piece deathcore band from Australia's Mid North Coast, delivering a crushing blend of technical precision, relentless heaviness and memorable songwriting. Formed in 2017 by high school friends Vai Gravino (vocals), Kade Nicol (drums), Ryan Humphreys (bass) and Khaleb Muir (guitar), the band have spent the years since developing a sound that combines modern deathcore aggression with technical musicianship and dynamic songwriting.
Across their previous releases, The Nameless have built their identity around punishing breakdowns and an increasingly refined approach to heavy songwriting. Their music has continued to evolve with every release, while their energetic live performances and growing online presence have helped establish the band within Australia's emerging heavy music scene.
“FEAR” marks one of the band's biggest shifts in sound to date. The track embraces a more modern and groove-driven approach, incorporating pitch effects and riffs designed to hit with maximum impact in a live setting. The change is equally evident in the song's lyrical direction, with the band drawing heavily from horror and slasher imagery to create a darker and more unsettling atmosphere.
Written collectively by all four members, “FEAR” represents The Nameless pushing their songwriting into new territory without losing the aggression that has defined them from the beginning. With a sound that is heavier, dirtier and more immediate, the single offers a glimpse at where The Nameless are heading next — and a track built to be experienced at full volume in the live environment.
“FEAR” is available everywhere now.
