Seattle’s Industrial Artist MORTAL REALM Demolishes US Administration With New Single “ROT (And Decompose)”!

Seattle-based industrial artist MORTAL REALM has released the new single “ROT (And Decompose)” on December 5th via Negative Gain Productions. The song - available on Bandcamp and on the main digital streaming services - is a critique of the current administration and a challenge to those who supported it in the past or present to confront the greed and malice hidden beneath its promises.

The opening sample comes from a character whose misplaced confidence (arguably a smokescreen to their own insecurities) destroys them. They ultimately suffered at the hands of the leader they served. It's a parallel to what happens when blind confidence replaces empathy and awareness.

‍

The production draws heavily from Nine Inch Nails, Bile, Ministry, and the general sense of unease I feel about where things are. The serene moment toward the end represents the version of our world that could exist if we acted with intention. The final chorus returns to the urgency of the message: we can't afford complacency anymore, and to actually do something instead of just accepting the damage.

‍

MORTAL REALM is the multi-genre, industrial-driven project of Adam V. Jones, known for his work in Haex and Sterling Silicon. Following the debut album “Stab In The Dark,” the project expands on Jones’s blend of heavy electronics, melodic textures, and esoteric atmospheres.
