Regarding the song, vocalist Blaythe Steuer comments: "Slowly Turning Blue is a song I needed to write before No Cure was even an idea. Unfortunately, it's pretty emotionally challenging for me, so instead I will talk about how much I love the static pinch riff, the harmonized guitars in the bridge, and the Sepultura drums section. I can't wait to play this one live starting next month across the US because to be honest you are dancing."
