Decibel set the tone perfectly in their premiere description, calling the record a dose of “dank, depressive doom” and praising the trio for delivering eight “bleak doomscapes of dread and darkness” that lumber forward with relentless weight. With every track clocking well past the five-minute mark, Blessing of the Damned offers a full immersion into Hexjakt’s world of ritual gloom and unyielding heaviness.
Recorded at Kingstreet Studio in August 2025 and mixed and mastered by Joona Hassinen at Studio Underjord , the album will be released on both vinyl and digital formats through Majestic Mountain Records , in collaboration with Burning Skull Records . Preorders for vinyl and digital editions are available now.

Hexjakt—featuring Hampus Henningsson (guitar/vocals), Toni Åkerman (bass/vocals), and Dan Nordin (drums)—describe their debut full-length as their most conceptually focused and emotionally intense work to date.
“With Blessing of the Damned we present a collection of the darkest and most conceptually charged songs we’ve created so far,” the band states. “The title itself captures the album’s core tension: the pull between damnation and redemption, light and darkness. These songs unfold across a landscape of crushing, slow-paced riffs, murky atmospheres, and lyrics that evoke ritual ecstasy, defiance, and resignation. This is a journey beyond traditional boundaries, a space where the marginalized and the forsaken are given a voice, and perhaps even a kind of blessing in their downfall.”
Blessing of the Damned drops December 1.
