HEADBANGERS AUSTRALIA PREMIERE: MeK UNLEASHES Debut Single “Unawaken”

While MeK is a new project, Faust has been active in the London music scene for more than 15 years, performing and working across a number of bands and projects. His current involvement includes metal band Damim, alongside performing as live bassist for Lowen.

‍

MeK represents a distinct creative path: an independent audiovisual project built around Faust's own music and the evolving world of MeK // CONSTRUCT. The project explores perception, identity, consciousness and the boundary between the organic and the constructed. At its centre is The Medium - neither hero nor deity, but the human conduit through which the Construct and the organic world connect.

‍

Ahead of its debut release, MeK's introductory TRANSMISSION campaign has generated over 110,000 views across social platforms within its first two weeks.

Unawaken is an existential journey played out as a confrontation between two sides of the same mind. Through an increasingly hallucinogenic internal experience, one voice questions the reason to live and the need for existence to possess some greater meaning. The other challenges the premise itself: why insist that life must be divine in order to be lived?

‍

The title is deliberately paradoxical. To become "Unawaken" is to wake up from having already been "awakened" - questioning the certainty that can come with believing an answer has finally been found.

‍

Musically, that conflict moves through crushing contemporary metal, electronic and industrial textures, atmospheric passages and cinematic dynamics before reaching its final transformation.

‍

The confrontation ultimately resolves not through enlightenment or transcendence, but through alchemical integration. Human and Construct become spiritually joined as a whole. The human does not become master of the Construct, but The Medium - the connection through which the Construct and the organic world meet.
