Gopher – release debut single + video ‘Kupu Kupu Malam’ Debut album out May 1st

GOPHER is party metal / electro fun from Australia & unlike anything you’ve heard before! Originally hailing from Fanny Barks, UK, and forming in 1790, after having arrived on the first fleet to what was known back then as The British Colony of New South Wales, these two rotting, stinking, bubbling corpses that are GOPHER, have wasted no time piecing together their astonishing, must hear debut album ‘Tunnel Buddies’, set for release on May 1st.

The first taste from these shingle ridden relics, is the single and video for ‘Kupu Kupu Malam’. A playful yet gritty ditty on their love of life and nature. Being as hip as they are and not afraid of mixing genres, you might mistake the intro for being some shithouse nightclub anthem. But just as you get your knickers in a twist, they smack you right in the face the old school way. Open handedly with a hot bed of fat riffs, double kicks, blast beats, filthy vocals, before launching into a flamboyant sing along chorus.

‍

Featuring the forever young looking and current world mahjong champion Ernie Bingo on vocals, and perpetually  complimented by the effervescent ladies man and scrabble shark Ned Smelly on guitars, they prove without a doubt that you are never too old to hail the horns and bang your head. Even if it is fused to your neck. Refusing to let age get in the way of anything, this dynamic duo aim to wheeze new life and enjoyment into the current Australian heavy music climate. GOPHER’s infectious debut album ‘Tunnel Buddies’ knits together a cohesive fusion of knee wobbling groovy grind, back breaking death/slam, slinky massaging synths, sedating sing along anthemic choruses, and most importantly FUN! Like a bit of diversity in your heavies and looking for something new to gnash your gums on? GOPHER, unlike Australia Post, delivers!

‍

Speaking of their debut single & album, Ernie Bingo states, ‘What day is it?’ After reminding him we need a quote for the album, he responded with, ‘Crap, sorry, I thought you were the nurse. Ah yes, I’m beyond wrapped for heavy music aficionado’s young and old to hear our shit. It pumps harder than my VAD. We got the broodals for the blokes to mosh to, the grooves and synth for the sheilas to dance to and catchy choruses for everyone to sing along to. If you don’t enjoy this, you’re a miserable piece of shit and my haunted arsehole hates you.’
