FINSMOONTH — “Chrysalis of Astral Tears”, new album out now

We are honored to share "Chrysalis of Astral Tears", an album that plunges into the tender, aching depths of the human soul, where wounds whisper truths and quiet hopes bloom into light. This is a woven poem, a fragile cocoon cradling the weight of unspoken pain, ready to unfurl into a sky of shared feeling.

"Chrysalis of Astral Tears" gathers six tracks, each a fleeting glimpse into the heart’s hidden corners: An Endless Depth, Foliage of the Wings, Dimming Palette, Luminous Unveiling, Embers at Ethereal Dawn, and Presomnal. These songs drift like shadows across an inner sky, guiding listeners through the ache of loss, the flicker of hope, and the soft glow of healing.

The title holds the album’s essence. “Chrysalis” is the delicate shell where pain  transforms into something new, a fragile space of becoming. “Astral” evokes a vast, inner  sky, not of stars but of emotions that stretch beyond words. “Tears” are the raw, glistening  drops of sorrow, longing, and quiet joy that bind us all. Together, they form a tapestry of  sound that is both deeply personal and universally felt.

Each track in "Chrysalis of Astral Tears" is a brushstroke of the soul. An Endless Depth:  sinks into the heart’s silent abyss, where grief whispers its truth. Foliage of the Wings:  dreams of wings woven from fragile hopes, yearning to rise. Dimming Palette: paints  emotions fading into shadow, yet still beautiful. Luminous Unveiling: lifts the veil on a  radiant truth born from pain, while Embers at Ethereal Dawn: kindles the faint warmth of  new beginnings. Presomnal: cradles wounds in a gentle hymn, its notes shimmering with  shared healing.

Chrysalis of Astral Tears, the sophomore album of Finsmoonth, will be released through Disaster Records in CD format on june 13, 2026. It was recorded between January and May 2025 by Jafar Sadik and Januaryo Hardy at Benji Studio, Insidious Soundlab, and Cyptid’s Lair.

Addition of other elements by Januaryo Hardy (all chants, a few guitar parts and synth) and Isa Bellum (vocals on track “Luminous Unveiling” and “Presomnal”).

Mixed and mastered in June 2025 by Januaryo Hardy at Insidious Soundlab.

‍

Co-produced by Januaryo Hardy and Finsmoonth.

Music composed by Irwin Dwi Ryanto, Ade Zulkifli, and Micco Rullyanto.

Finsmoonth was founded as a Melodic Black Metal band in Jakarta, Indonesia, in 2020. The band's musical style is characterized by organic, harmonic atmosphere and spiritualistic intensity, rooted in Black Metal and Post Rock elements. The lyrics are mostly based on poetry, despair, romance, life and psychological themes in an introspective and personal manner.
