Combining a knowing respect for the traditions of the genre with a desire to push the limits of extremity and incorporating that edge of chaos and violence which is so prevalent in South American metal, the band are ready to unleash their self titled debut album.
From the accomplished beginning of ‘Crowned King Of The Worms’ there is an aura of confidence and authority about Sermon To The Lambs, an intimidating dominance backed by the power to decimate all that stand in their way. The direct, focussed, full force, blasphemous assault of ‘Spitting In The Church Of The Nazarene’ is instilled with a palpable malice and the annihilating firestorm of ‘Maximum Apostasy’ writhes within an aura of ancient rites and profane ceremonies. Unfathomable darkness and devastating intensity blend like blood and unholy water throughout this album, creating a dual impact on the spirit and the flesh. We climb through the vicious cruelty of ‘Scourging At The Pillar’ to the albums shocking climax of ‘God Spat And The Man Was Done’ and ‘Clergy’s Malevolence’ – precision drum battery, riffs like landslides and vocals from beyond the black – a bestial, battering conclusion that slips into echoing, atmospheric swathes of sound. However, just as you’re starting to breathe a little easier those final two tracks are back for another attack – bonus additions to the main body of the album, featuring the guest vocals of Manifestations’ Jeff Page. And with that, any remnants of life are utterly extinguished.

Mixed and mastered by the band’s own Victor Araneda – noted for giving an evil shine to albums by In Asymmetry, First Degree Murder and Supreme Banishment – Sermon To The Lambs sounds ferocious; ripe with real world violence and otherworldly terror. When the album is released on March 6th by the kings of brutality, Comatose Music, complete with the eye-gouging artwork of the infamous Par Olofsson (Winds Of Plague, Unleashed, Thy Art Is Murder) the non-believers will be brought to their knees. Sermon To The Lambs are coming for your souls!
