A GOAT AS OUR SHEPHERD has stated about “Man Proposes, Earth Disposes”:
“As with every new album, the challenge is simple: write something that genuinely ignites a fire in us. That often means stepping outside the rigid confines of the traditional death metal mold and embracing elements that might seem unexpected - yet somehow fit AGAOS perfectly.”
The songwriting process for the new album was instinctive rather than calculated. Songs took shape through intuition, chaos, and experimentation until, almost mysteriously, everything locked into place and formed a coherent whole. The same spirit has driven the lyrics. They channel T'Seyen’s personal reflections on human nature, social tensions, and political realities, balanced with an unflinching dose of self-examination.
On “Man Proposes, Earth Disposes,” expect a relentless musical and lyrical onslaught that metal fans will immediately recognize and feel. Rage, tension, defiance, and triumph collide in a storm of emotion - the full spectrum of pathos that defines a true, uncompromising metal album.

About
Since their formation in 2019, the Belgian/Dutch death metal act A Goat As Our Shepherd has slowly but surely carved their (left hand) path through the metal scene. With their brutal, melodic and utterly unique sound, they are capturing the hearts and souls of every self-respecting metalhead. Both by their musical output as their ever overwhelming and energetic live shows.
While deeply rooted in 90's death metal, AGAOS refuses to limit themselves in whatever way when it comes to musical expression. Easily blending influences from Bloodbath, In Flames, Dissection, Pantera, Heaven Shall Burn, a.o. into a coherent symphony of well...destruction.
With their first EP, "Agaos" (2021), and the highly acclaimed debut album, "Epiphany" (2023), under their belt, the band returned in February 2026 with their second full-length album, titled "Man Proposes, Earth Disposes." Having their signature sound refined with more detail, more groove, and more of literally everything that makes any metal heart beat faster, AGAOS is ready for the next step in their career.
