The Gig - LUCA BRASI, WINDWAKER AND THE BENNIES HEAD TO REGIONAL NSW FOR NEW TWO-NIGHT PUNK AND METAL EVENT

CCT Productions has announced The Gig, a new two-night live music event at the Agriculture Pavilion, Orange Showgrounds, bringing a slice of the national Australian music scene out west: Friday 4 September is Punk Night, Saturday 5 September is Metal Night. The debut event brings this calibre of lineup to a regional NSW venue for the first time at this scale.

THE LINEUP

Friday 4 September — Punk Night: Luca Brasi | The Bennies | Where's Jimmy | Ghazza

Saturday 5 September — Metal Night: Windwaker | Diamond Construct | Whisperhead | Stare at  the Clouds | Stone Sovereign

‍

Tasmanian melodic punk band Luca Brasi headline Friday - six albums deep, with 2016's If This  Is All We're Going To Be peaking at number 18 on the ARIA Albums Chart. Windwaker headline  Saturday and join The Gig off the back of 2024's HYPERVIOLENCE and a Spotify catalogue  past six million streams on the single "SIRENS" alone.

‍

Melbourne ska-punk institution The Bennies are set to be a crowd favourite, mid-way through  their Canniversary Tour marking fifteen years of Party! Party! Party! and ten years of Wisdom  Machine. They are also joined by Sydney's Ghazza, Taree's Diamond Construct, currently  touring the UK and Europe with Alpha Wolf in October, and progressive post-metal act Stare at  the Clouds.

‍

The bill also carries deep Central West roots. Where's Jimmy formed when its members were  still at school in Orange. Dubbo's Whisperhead built their nu-metal sound through relentless  touring and running their own festival, Whisperfest, now in its fifth year. Orange's own Stone  Sovereign bring a death metal and folk sound built around full costumes and Norse mythology  to Saturday's bill.

‍

"Growing up out west in Orange, if you wanted a lineup like this, you were driving to Canberra or  Sydney. My first big gig was Megadeth at the Hordern Pavilion, and I always wondered why we  couldn't get something like that in the Central West. We've got the capacity and the  infrastructure for it out here, we just need to let fans of the scene know," said Mitch Colton,  Technical Director of CCT Productions.

‍

A dedicated local stage across both nights, Tomorrow's Noise Today, gives emerging Central  West acts, from school age up, a shot at the same bill as the national lineup. Applications are  now open at thegig.au/tnt-stage.

‍

"We're excited to be coming out west, and especially to Orange for the very first time. Richo  used to work at Cadia for a year back in the day, so it's a first trip for the band and a return to  old stomping ground for him too. Orange knew how to party then, and by god it still does," said  Luca Brasi’s management.

‍

"Orange isn't a city that gets shows like this very often, so we're stoked to be part of changing  that. The Gig's lineup is properly mixed with lots of different genres, which is exactly the kind of  bill we want to be on. We're bringing new tracks to play live in Australia for the first time, and  can't wait to see everyone there!" said Windwaker’s management.

‍

Fans from as far afield as Queensland and South Australia have already snapped up early  tickets for The Gig’s debut event.

‍

Tickets including multi-day packages are now on sale at  thegig.au.
