I Built The Sky - Return Home For Exclusive Melbourne Show This October

For well over a decade, Melbourne guitarist and composer Rohan Stevenson has quietly built I Built The Sky into one of Australia's most respected instrumental progressive acts. Completely independent, Ro has amassed more than 70 million streams, built a worldwide audience across YouTube, Spotify and social media, toured internationally throughout Europe, the UK and India, shared stages with the likes of Periphery, Monuments, Plini, Intervals, Polyphia, The Dillinger Escape Plan and many more, while earning the respect of fans and fellow musicians alike.

This October, I Built The Sky return home for what promises to be a very special Melbourne performance.

IBTS will perform both the critically acclaimed new album Promise Me You'll Thrive and fan favourite The Zenith Rise, in full - from start to finish!

Opening the night with his own brand of progressive/djent mayhem will be Adelaide's own Keyan.

Released earlier this year, Promise Me You'll Thrive debuted at #4 on the ARIA Australian Albums Chart, reached #3 on the AIR Charts, claimed the #1 Instrumental, Djent and Instrumental Metal positions on Bandcamp, received a four-star review in The Australian and saw Stevenson named Australian Musician's Musician of the Month.

While breathtaking musicianship has always been central to I Built The Sky, it's the songwriting that continues to set them apart. Equal parts technical precision and genuine emotion, IBTS's music has earned praise from some of progressive music's biggest names.

The Australian added that "Stevenson has carved out his own distinctive path" while Karnivool guitarist Drew Goddard simply described Rohan as "a natural." Triple J says it's "some of Australia's finest in the progsphere" with Plini proclaiming that the songs contain "everything you need in an instrumental track - slippery riffs and big feels."
